T Minus 2 and Counting

Well, I'm counting down (have been for quite some time)! We leave Friday morning for the Outerbanks. I am so excited!! I am about 85% packed. I still have to make that dreaded trip to Wal-Mart to get all of the last minute stuff and a few groceries that we'll take with us. I have two major lists going on. Which is totally ironic because I am not a list maker, at all!! I usually make one to go to the grocery store, but half the time walk out the door without it. I just know what we need and get it. But, there's so much stuff I have to pack for four people staying away for 8 days! I am so ready for a vacation! I am glad to just get a way and relax! I can't wait to see the boys reactions to everything. It's a little bitter sweet for me..."B" will be starting preschool in the fall so I want to make every moment count this summer. I know it's only for 3 hours two days a week, but it also means we're starting a new chapter. He's growing up and before I know it, he'll be starting kindergarten. His vocabulary has enhanced and I just stop and look at him because we're carrying on full conversations. It's so funny to hear the stuff that comes out of his mouth. Anyway, I'm off to wash the dye out of my hair and then I can cross that off my list!

Time Flies

Holy Cow! I can not believe I haven't posted since last Saturday!! I honestly thought it was like Monday or Tuesday when I blogged last. Alisha from Stinkerpot Scraps emailed me to see if I was alright because I haven't blogged. This week has flown by!! I have been busy every night this week! Not sure doing what other than playing outside until dark. By the time I get all the toys from outside picked up, the kids inside, baths given, and putting them to bed, it's 10:30 and I have to check on my "farm". Then before I know it, "M's" home and we chat a while and then go to bed. I get up and do it all over again. "M" and I went on a longer ride this week. I am so hooked to riding!! I LOVE it!! (this was only my second time on a bike, ever!) We went on about a 2 1/2 hour ride. Surprisingly enough, my butt wasn't numb and I could have went on for a few more hours. I took the boys to the park the other day and met several of our friends there. It was a blast but so freakin' hot! I'm also starting to put things together for the beach. We leave next Friday morning for the Outerbanks. I am so excited! We weren't able to go last year so I'm very excited to see the kids reactions. "B" hasn't been since he was 18 months maybe and "C" has never been. Both totally love the water and all "B' talks about is playing in the sand and building the biggest sand castles ever! Well, that's about all that's going on here...I hope you guys have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

Oh yeah, speaking of Memorial Day...I have to tell you this story real quick. Run for the Wall went through on Thursday. (incase you don't know what that is, it's a group of bikers, some, maybe most are war veterans, that start out in California and ride to the Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. to remember those who have fallen for our country) The group always spends a night here (not my house haha) and then proceeds to their next stop. I wanted to take the boys to watch so I had one of "M's" co-workers call me to let me know when they were close to leaving. I was told at 8:30am that they were heading out in a couple hours (2 mind you!) About a half an hour later I'm just stepping out of the shower when I get the call that they are leaving, right now! I throw on some clothes and grab the boys and out the door we go. (i'm about 5 min from the interstate entrance) As I'm getting out of the car, I notice that I have no shoes on!! I'm like great, but I'm already here and I'm going on to watch. I get the boys (who are also shoeless) and we go to the sidewalk to watch. Thank goodness the only other person within a close distance was someone that I knew. I'm standing there with wet hair, no shoes, a shoeless kid on my hip, and another barefoot child standing in front of me. (I want absolutely no WV jokes left as a comment LOL - it's people like me who usually end up on tv giving us our bad wrap LOL) But, I was there for the right reasons and introducing a part of history to my kids. There were probably about 300 Veterans who were riding. Everyone was waving and beeping their horns. Most had small American flags mounted to their bikes and it was truly a sight to see. (which you won't get to from me, because I had no camera) The boys totally loved it even though neither really got what it was all about. So, to all of you who may be a Veteran, lost one, or know one, we THANK YOU!!

**This Memorial Day is my first without my grandfather who passed away in August, '08. He was a WWII Veteran. I wish that he was here to have seen the Ride with my boys. We Love You and Miss You...R.I.P. Paw-Paw. I can't wait until I see you again!!**

And the winner is....

Danny. I finally watched the season finale of Hell's Kitchen. I have to admit that I originally wanted Danny to win but after seeing the team he picked, I like Paula's better, minus Lacy. I can't even imagine trying to cook under all of that pressure. I get so wrapped up in these shows lol. I hated Danny's dining room...nothing matched and it was a mix of decor. Paula definitely had the better one! I think I'm all caught up the finales for now. I have to add that I am so glad Coach got the boot off of Survivor Thursday evening. I think that's the next big show that has to come to an end. Also, I finally saw when Gene Simmon's Family Jewels comes back on for another season. It will start up Sunday, June 7th at 9pm. I love this show!! I'm coming to realize that I have several that I love!! Oh yeah, I caught another run of The Biggest Loser finale and was able to see Kristin. I think she looks so good but I don't care for the platinum blonde hair that she went with. I'm off to bed now...well, I have to check on my farm (FarmTown) real quick and then I'm headed there. I have to get my rest...we're goin' Harley ridin' tomorrow....love it!! Goodnight!

So....

So....

what did you guys think of the season finale of Grey's?? (For those of you who missed it, I included a video clip from it...I have watched it about 10 times already!) I can't believe it! I had heard that Izzy was leaving the show, but during the last 20 minutes, I actually thought they had changed their minds and she was staying! I was so excited...and then she died. I also thought the guy that was hit by the bus at the end was trying to spell out that the girl pushed him and had tried killing him. Boy was I wrong!! I had no idea that was George, nor was I expecting that to be him. I just figured he enlisted and wasn't coming back. I did get a little confused at the end though when Izzy was all dressed up in the elevator and there was the guy in the uniform. I'm assuming that was George in his army uniform...but were they seeing each other after they had died?? Wasn't sure about all of that. Anyways, all I know is I can't wait to see the first episode of the next season! Is Lexie and Dr. McSteamy (Sloan) going to break up or move in together?? I can't stand it...I have to know what will happen!!

By the way, Hell's Kitchen Finale is on Reality TV tomorrow (Saturday) at 9pm. So I will get to see if Paula or Danny wins...please, please don't tell me if you already know!!

Catching Up

Wow, have I been busy this week! We are flipping a house and for the last 3 days we've been up there working and when I get home, I'm still all about getting my walk in. I'm walking 2-3 miles a day and I am down 16lbs....yeah!! "B's" finally over the pink eye and thank goodness "C" never caught it, or the rest of us for that matter! I watched the last hour of The Biggest Loser finale and was so disappointed that Helen won. I so did not like her! I was rooting for Kristen until she got voted off and I missed seeing what she looked like. (I hope to catch it on Reality TV in the next few nights) I was actually hoping Mike would pull through, just because Tara had won most of the challenges and never fell below the yellow line. That kid really worked hard and I'm hoping will continue to do so and keep the weight off. (Isn't it funny how wrapped up we get in these shows lol) Since I've missed posting the last few days, I'm skipping the recipe and Would You Wednesday until next week. I promise I'll do better! I'm coming up on my 100th post. Not sure yet what I'm gonna do about that, maybe a giveaway or something. I'm trying to get things cleaned up around here and I'm slowly starting to dig out all of the summer and beach stuff. Oh yeah, before I forget to tell ya, I finally took a ride on our new Harley! I'm totally hooked and absolutely love it! I can't wait for it to finally stop raining so we can get back out. Well, I'm finished for now so I can go walk. I'm starting earlier tonight so I can get everything done and the kids in bed before Survivor and the Season Finale of Grey's Anatomy starts. I am very excited to see how they end the season!! I'm going to miss the season finale of Hell's Kitchen, but I will make that up on Reality TV tomorrow or the next day. I'm pulling for Danny, but please don't comment and tell me who wins. I know this post is all over the place but that's how I roll. I told ya I've been a busy girl this week! I almost forgot (again)...I've been given another award. BrnEyedGal from Brown Eyed Gal A Little of This...A Lot of That awarded me with the One Lovely Blog Award. So a big Thank you to her!! Head on over to check out her blog and tell her I sent ya!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you! I hope you have a great day and enjoy it to the fullest with your family! Here's to you...

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom .

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Pink Eye

Yep, that's the latest thing going on in our house. I stopped at Kroger's Thursday evening to pick a few groceries. They have a car attached to some of the buggies for the kids to ride in. I absolutely hate these things because I know they are never cleaned. Against my better judgement, I let "B" ride in it. I can usually come up with an excuse for him not to get in it, but this time there were like 4 of these waiting as soon as we walked in the door. As soon as we got back to the car, I gave him a squirt of hand sanitizer, like I always do whenever we leave a public place. Well, yesterday morning his bottom eyelid starting turning red and becoming swollen. I thought he bumped it somewhere because it just came up all at once. By mid afternoon, his eye ball was bloodshot and his top eyelid was starting to swell as well. I was trying to hold him off until this morning in case it was allergies. At around 5:30 yesterday evening, he was really starting to rub it and telling me it was itching and hurting. So I ran him to Urgent Care and sure enough, he has pink eye. This is our first case ever of it and I'm sure it won't be the last. The doc gave us antibiotic eye drops and told us we were good to go after 24 hours. So in the meantime, I am having to try and keep him from touching "C" and wipe everything off constantly so none of the rest of us get it. I am praying no one else gets that, especially with tomorrow being Mother's Day!

Girls Night Out...

...FINALLY!!! I have never been so excited to leave my kids and enjoy a few hours to myself than I am today. I have cleaned up more messes and broke up more fights in the last two hours than I have ever. I keep forgetting to check to see if it's a full moon. My kids are nuts today and I'm almost there. I think the only thing saving me, is knowing they're getting dropped off at maw-maw's in about an hour. While I'm out kicking back at one of the local Japanese restaurants with some girl friends, "M" will be making a commercial. It's almost prom time so one of the area high schools is setting up a "mock" car accident. Health Net will be there taking off as if they were airlifting an accident victim out, as well as the fire dept and some ambulances. It's all to aid against drunk driving. (M is a cop for those of you who don't know) So we have a pretty interesting evening ahead of us. Tomorrow we have a funeral to attend. A retired law officer passed away so we'll be going to that.

I know I forgot to post a recipe yesterday, like I said I was going to come back to do, but just didn't get back to it. So I'm skipping it this week. I was tagged today, so when I get back this evening, I plan on posting that. I'm off to get ready for dinner...if my kids don't destroy the house first!

Farm Town

Sorry I have been neglecting my blogging duties, but I feel that I have a very good excuse. I'm not sure if any of you have played Farm Town on Facebook...but I am totally hooked to this game. I can literally click on my farm for a second and the next thing I know, it's an hour later! I get so wrapped up in it. I'm addicted to harvesting AND I can do it and make money! What more can I ask for. I have only owned a farm for 3 days and I already have a small house, a few animals, fencing, trees, and lots of crops! I worked at someone else's farm last night that took me over 30 min to get everything (I had already been on for an hour). My eyes were killing me by the time I was done so I finally had to turn it off! For those of you on facebook, you have to check this out!!

Well, I have to go now so I can get "C" changed because he just stood here and pooped. I have laundry yelling my name and breakfast dishes that need cleaned up. I'll be back later with Monday's recipe.

PS - I am down 12lbs!! We leave in a few weeks for the beach so I'm very excited about reaching my pre-beach goal (which was 20lbs).

Hotel Lady

I have to tell you guys this story...(Let me preface this in letting you know that I'm having trouble with "B" staying with us when we go somewhere. There are times when he sees something and takes off to look at it. So if he's walking then we have to keep an extra close eye on him. I refuse to use the kid leash thing!! It's a great idea but I just can't bring myself to do it...he's not a dog.) When we were in Pittsburgh for "C's" surgery, my mom was standing in the hotel lobby with "B". He kept running around her looking at stuff and she kept trying to get him to come back to her. A lady we did not know came right up to him and called him by name. She took him by the hand and told him that he had to come with her. That she was a "Stranger Danger" and that he didn't know her and since he wasn't listening to his mother (it was actually his grandmother but she didn't know) that he had to go with her. It scared him because she had him by his wrist and was leading him a few feet away from my mom. The "Hotel Lady", as we call her, explained to him that he needed to stay close to his mom so that no one could get him. He listened to every word that she said. She let him go and he went back with my mom and never left her side. LOL I was taken back a little when I heard this story, but was glad she did it. "B" never meets a stranger and talks to everyone. It was cute when he was a year or so younger, but now he's getting to the age that he needs to stop that. ("M" is a cop, which is why I don't post many real pics of my kids and because of what he does, he obviously sees the bad stuff) So we're trying hard to make sure "B" understands that he just can't walk off. Since the weather has gotten much warmer, he's wanting to be outside all the time. "M" had to put a lock at the very top of our door because he knows how to work the dead bolt and door knob, even with the safety knob on. But, when I forget to put the chain on, he goes right out to play. I'm trying to stop that also. Twice this week, he's slipped outside without me knowing it and I find him riding around on his trike. He's pretty much safe where we live, but there's still that chance that he could be taken. (You just never know with people these days) So tonight he went out the door and I didn't know it. I've threatened him a couple times that I was going to call the "hotel lady" and he comes running. He remembers that and it still scares him. So, I went to the door with the phone in my hand and I was pretending to talk to her. I told her what he was wearing and he heard me say that and knew immediately without me having to tell him who I was talking to. He came running and crying that he didn't want her to come. So I let him think she was coming for a few minutes to let it really sink in that I was serious and he couldn't go outside without mommy or daddy. (I'm sure you're thinking...mean mommy! lol) I once again was explaining to him why he can't go out by himself and he heard a car door shut. ("M" stopped by to see the kids for a second before they got ready for bed.) It could not have been a more perfect timing! "B" really thought the lady was here. So when "M" and his partner came in, "B" was crying. So I told "M" what happened. He just looks at me like I'm nuts, but it is finally starting to sink in with "B". So I explained this whole story to his partner and he thought it was very smart of me lol Traumatizing maybe lol but smart!

Monday's Menu

Here's today's recipe...

Easy Entree: Chicken-Bow Tie Pasta Salad

2 cups uncooked bow-tie pasta
1/2 cup Italian dressing
2 cups fresh broccoli florets
1/2 cup Colby & Mont. Jack Cheese Crumbles
2 cooked chicken breasts, diced
1/3 cup sliced black olives
1 cup halved cherry tomatoes or 1 whole tomato, diced
1/3 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Cook pasta as directed on pkg, adding broccoli to the cooking water for the last 2 min of pasta cooking time, drain.

Toss chicken, tomatoes, dressing, cheese crumbles, and olives in large bowl. Add pasta mixture; mix lightly. Sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese.

You can make this ahead of time...just cover and refrigerate several hours. (I think it's best served warm) You can also omit any of the above items and it's good. I usually make it without the olives and tomatoes. To save time, you can use the pre-cooked chicken strips in the 6oz pkg. I've also made this using reduced fat cheese and dressing and I think it tastes the same. You can also use whatever type of pasta shapes and cheese you like.

Hope you enjoy and feel free to leave your favorite Easy Entree recipe!!

Catching Up

Not really anything exciting has gone on this weekend. I've been catching up on cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and landscaping. We went to Home Depot this morning and I bought some flowers, which "M" hates! He thinks flowers are a total waste of money. As we're walking around, I'm trying to find the black sheets of stuff that you put down to prevent weeds from growing. He looks at me and says we have a roll of that at home. I tell him no but to save argument and major meltdowns (it was getting close to lunch time for the kids) we went on. I came home and starting getting the flower beds ready. I pull up the old weed blocker, old mulch and all. I go to get the roll of stuff and GUESS WHAT?? We don't have any!! He's at work so of course I call him up to inform him that I was right and we have none. Which he would have no idea about anyway because I'm the one who uses it and I used it all last year. He just says "Oh, I thought we had some." NOPE, we don't! I was half tempted to put the kids in the car and head back to Home Depot so I could get a good start on the beds, but decided to cut the grass and finish fixing up the rest of the yard. So my beds are neatly empty and waiting. As I'm putting the lawnmower and everything else back up, I see this HUGE worm crawling in the dirt. I mean this sucker is probably about 8 inches long. "B" is just now getting into bugs (he's been scared of everything up until now). I tried picking it up to show him but I'm terrified of snakes and this reminded me of a baby one and I couldn't handle the slippery thing. To my amazement, "B" reached down and picked it up. I grabbed the camera and he was all about it. He let that thing crawl all over his hand and up his arm. He finally flipped it out in the road and we came in to start baths. I would have totally posted a pic of this thing, but I can not find my camera cord anywhere to upload pics (i have about 200 waiting to be uploaded). "M" usually stops by before bedtime to tell the kids goodnight...first thing out of "B's" mouth is about this worm. I get the camera and show him. I'm talking about how big this thing is and he looks at me and informs me that it is a night crawler...like I'm supposed to know what in the heck that is! I've heard of them...isn't that what guys fish with? "M's" not much of a fisherman so I have no idea. Anyway, "B" repeats it back to me like I'm some idiot lol All I know is, it was huge and slimy! If I can ever find that cord (i've been looking for it for a couple weeks now) I'll post a pic of this ugly thing and you can see for yourself how nasty it is. The rest of the evening has been spent folding and putting away laundry. I have two more days of babysitting and I'm free again lol Don't forget to check back tomorrow...I'll have another recipe posted!!

Shiner

"B" was outside playing this afternoon and went to get on his Diego Trike. As he was swinging his leg to get on, his shoe got caught on his seat and the whole thing tilted with him. His left handle bar stuck him in the stomach and he tumbled over that handlebar. He landed smack on his face. Of course he got up screaming. Once I looked him over to make sure everything else was ok, he was fine. His right eye has a few scratches on it and is swollen. I'm sure by sometime tomorrow, he may have his very 1st black eye. As I was explaining this to him, he got real excited and wanted to call his daddy at work. The only reason he even knows what a black eye is, is because "C" had one post surgery and he kept walking around telling everyone ""C" has one eye asleep and one eye open." So we call daddy and as soon as "M" answers the phone, "B" is telling him he's gonna get a black eye. lol "M" is just repeating black eye to him and "B" is very excitedly telling him yes. Wouldn't it be nice to be a kid again? It doesn't take much to make them happy! LOL

How's Your Morning??

Mine started out REALLY rough! Why? You ask? Let me tell you what I woke up to... "B" woke up sometime around 6:15 this morning and ready to go. We made him lay there quietly as everyone else was sleeping and we did well until about 7:00. "M" got up and turned the tv on in the living room for him and turned my alarm off and got back in bed. I was awake but not up moving yet and "C" was still sleeping. Evidently I fell back asleep and woke up 15 min late. I get up and walk into the living room where the smell of Lysol about knocked me over. I picked up the can and it was empty! I look over and see the drawer pulled out that we keep all of the kids cars/trucks in. "B" had emptied the can on the cars...there was Lysol standing in the bottom of the drawer. Everything was soaked! I know it's my fault for leaving the can out last night...I just didn't think about it. ("B" watched me spray the cars/trucks in their drawer last night so that's how/why he did it) Trying to be helpful, I know but HOLY COW what a mess and stink! I opened up every window and turned the ceiling fan on to try and air this place out. As I'm taking the drawer to the kitchen to rinse them off, I see a paper towel lying on the cabinet. It has brown stuff on it. So only as a mom would do, I smell it. There's not really a smell, so I yell for "B" and ask where this paper towel came from. He just gave me a crap eatin' grin and said my butt. So no need for any further questions about what it is! I ask where the rest of the poop is and he tells me he pooped in his pull up (he is potty trained but we're still wearing a pull up at night) and threw it in the trash. As I look in the trash to confirm, I see a fallen turd on the rug. I pick it up and throw it in with the rest of the mess. As "B" turns to walk away, I see poop smeared on his butt from one cheek to the other. I tell him to freeze as I find the wipes to get the rest of him cleaned off before he starts climbing on any of the furniture. I think to myself...it's just now 7:30 and look what we've accomplished! I think I'm in for it today!!

Stuck Inside

As I mentioned in a couple posts earlier, I am babysitting for some friends of ours while their normal babysitter is on vacation. It's for 10 days and today was day 6. I have a huge headache and have a mound of laundry to do. The first few days, I thought, I wouldn't mind babysitting all the time. It's good extra money and relatively easy. As of today, there's no way in the world! I have no idea how working mothers get it all done. I'm at my house babysitting and still don't have time to get stuff around here done. I LOVE being a stay at home mom and am very THANKFUL that I do not work outside the home! This week has really opened my eyes up to that. I can't wait for the weekend so I can take "B" and do something special. Poor guy has been shuffled to the side, finding things of his own to keep him entertained because I have two others to take care of and we've been stuck inside for the last 3 days because it's done nothing but rain. I am ready for some sunshine and the weekend!

Would You Wendesday

I know you guys are sitting and waiting to see what disgusting dilemma you must choose from so I won't keep you waiting any longer....
Would you rather...
be good with computers but have an incredibly moist left foot?
or
be regarded as the greatest diorama maker of all time but have a friendly midget permanently strapped to you, papoose style?
Thanks to those of you who leave your answers as comments...I love reading them!

Monday's Menu

I'm thinking about trying something new...I love finding/trying new recipes, so I come up with the idea to have a Monday's Menu. Each Monday I'll pick a category (i.e. appetizer, entree, etc) and post a recipe that I have. I'm hoping that you guys will post one back. It would be like one great big recipe swap! What do you think?? Would you take a few min and post one?? I'll try it for a few weeks and see how it goes...

Desserts: Cookies
Chocolate Cake Cookies
1 Box Chocolate Cake Mix 2 Tbs. Water
1 Egg 1 Stick Butter, softned
Mix all ingredients together. Roll into 1-inch balls (if batter is too wet, put in fridge for about 10-15 min) Roll balls into granulated sugar. Bake at 375 for 8 min.
** Strawberry cake mix works really well also **

HA! HA! HA! I hope you're enjoying the last part of your weekend!

GROW UP!

I just walked in the door from shopping at Wal-Mart, not a very classy store - I know, but it's a one stop shop and I love it. So my expectations on what I see there should not shock me anymore, however, some people still seem to amaze me! As I'm loading the groceries into the Durango, I hear this 80's rap music start blaring. I look around to see who's showing off, and I see a beat up blue Dodge Neon with a pink Hello Kitty sticker on the back of it, with two young (around 8 or 9) in the back seat, a 30+ woman in the driver's seat. I'm thinking, surly that's not her with those kids in the back. Then I see it...here's comes the Big Daddy to get in...he's wearing the big baggy shorts down past his butt crack, with a dirty white wife beater on, and 3 or 4 gold chains and walking like he has one leg shorter than the other. Oh yeah, his hat is on sideways and a cig is hanging out of the side of his mouth. Now, I don't see anything wrong with this if you're in your late teens early 20's because that seems to be the phase (or at least it was when I was that age), but for Pete Sakes, when you're 30+ pull up your dang pants and turn your hat around straight and act your age!! I wanted to walk up to him and be like "DUDE, YOU'RE WHITE!!!" (yes I just said dude, I love that word!) and you have kids in the car...GROW UP!! As I'm watching all of this, "B" is in the back yelling, "Mom, where's the music coming from?" I just shook my head and said "over there". They leave and I am able to finish putting my groceries in the car. Then, as I pull up to the stop light, there they are! I look over and he's leaned his passenger seat so far back that he's almost laying the girl's lap behind him. He looked like a 12 year old boy...all you could see was his sideways hat. I'm literally thinking to myself, he's probably riding in the passenger seat because he has no license! The light turned green and I drove off...

All at Once

I can't remember if I mentioned that I have 4 kids this week. I'm watching a couple extra for some friends. It's really fun because their youngest is 2 months older than "C" so it's been fun to watch them interact. Their oldest is in 2nd grade and "B's" girlfriend, as he likes to call her. They just hang out in his room...which I can't believe he's 3 and already has a girl in his room with the door shut! He better enjoy it now because in a few years...that won't happen until he's 30! I've always heard that when kids are together, they get on a schedule and do a lot of things at the same time...for instance, (can you guess where I'm going with this?? what do we love most at our house??) both babies took a dump bigger than Russia. I swear to you they had to have pooped simultaneously. As I'm getting the last one changed, I hear "B" yelling, "Mom, wipe my butt!" I'm thinking, are you kidding me? I head that way and there both of the bigger kids are pooping together in the bathroom lol So by 9am today, everyone in the house had taken a dump! What a great way to start the morning!! Guess everyone will be ready for lunch in about 5 minutes...

Better Late Than Never....

Would you rather...

slide down a banister of razor blades into a pile of Cajun spice?

or

be buried up to your neck and have you head used as a golf tee for a day?

Since I'm late...I'll let you think on another one...

Would you rather...

fight Mike Tyson?

or

talk like him??

Busy

So I'm babysitting for the next few days for a friend and I totally forgot about it being Wednesday yesterday. I know you guys are just sitting there waiting to see what kind of crazy and disgusting Would You Rather question I give...don't worry...I'll post it up after while. The kids are due any minute so once things get settled, I'll getcha a good one!

Oh yeah, I nixed the whole diet thing and am popping pills lol Just an aid to speed up the process a little. I know, I know...those are bad for you, but it's only short term and I need the boost. I am doing a 1200 calorie diet though and exercising so it's all good. The good out ways the bad! (that's my theory anyway and I'm sticking to it) So I'm anxious to see the results by beach time!!

Updates...

This one is going to be a short one because I'm adding two extra kids to the mix for the the next few days and I need to get some sleep!! I wanted to give you an update on the whole spray tan thing...I'm still tan and would so do that all over again! I wouldn't recommend doing it the day before whatever event you plan on attending, just because you never know how you're gonna turn out. Just keep your skin moisturized and you're good to go. Tomorrow will be day 5...my legs are starting to fade a little but not much. My face isn't as dark as it was, but I wash it a couple times a day so that's expected. It's so worth the money if you don't have time to lay out or in a bed and want to be tan.

Boys will be Boys

I long for the day when one of my boys, including the big one ("M"), will stop asking me to "pull my finger". I was on the phone this evening and "B" comes running up screaming, "Mom, pull my finger (which he sticks out his thumb)". So, being a good sport I pull it...about three times, before he finally lets out this little toot. He explodes laughing and saying over and over, "Mom, did you hear my toot". I told him yes and that I was so proud. He was very excited and declared that he needed me to hang up so he could use the phone to call his dad. I guess some things never change and still, at the age of 38, "M" gets a kick out of asking me to "pull my finger".

Happy Easter!!

I want to wish each of you a very safe and Happy Easter! Remember what this day is really about and enjoy it with you families!!

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Short and Sweet...

...cause I'm off to bed. I'm exhausted. The Easter bunny has landed, the pies have been made for lunch tomorrow and the house is clean and in order. Lord only knows how long that will last. I'm hoping the wild ones won't trash it before everyone gets here and sees everything all nice and neat...one can only pray though! There's only a 3 hour window that the boys will be home in which destruction can happen...we'll see how it goes. We did squeeze in coloring eggs and I also gave "B" a haircut. We've gone non-stop all day and I'm ready to hit the sac. I hope you guys have a great Easter and enjoy the time with your families!

ME

Today I was able to get out by myself for a while. I was in dire need of a break. "B" didn't go to bed until after 10 because he had a late nap yesterday and sometimes you just have to let them rest! Well, I paid for it because he was up by 7am today and CRANKY!! He was so whinny and that just had a ripple affect on everyone. We get frustrated because he's tired and starts throwing tantrums and just acting up. "M" went to work and my mom watched the boys. I went to get a hair cut and decided to try the new spray tanning bed. Boy was that an experience! If you've never done this, you have to try it at least once. I don't know anyone personally who has done this...only seen the episode of Friends about a thousand times where Ross doesn't get turned around in time and sprays the front of him about 4 times. It so could happen though if you don't pay attention to what you're doing in there. There's a lot of prep work before you get in. Thank goodness there were no mirrors in the booth!! You have to stand awkwardly and with your fingers in a curled position as if you have arthritis so bad you can't move them. It's actually quiet comical. I'm pretty dark and so far no streaks or misses. We'll find out in the morning once I've had a shower. I wanted somewhat of a tan for Easter. As of right now, I'd do it again. It only lasts for about a week though but it seems to be pretty awesome for a quick color fix! Well, I'm off to boil some eggs so we can color them tomorrow.

Great Day

I'm making this really short because my kitchen is a total wreck! I made peanut butter eggs tonight and was doing well to finish them up before "C" came crying ready for bed. I have a ton to do before Easter gets here, which by the way we're having at our house this year. I mowed the grass so that's ready to hide eggs, although now that I think about it, maybe I should have left the grass longer...oh well!

I'm totally psyched..."M" found an awesome deal on a 2001 Harley Davidson Fatboy. It's nice and well equipped! Things worked out and we (well, "M") is the proud owner of it! Too bad it's supposed to rain the rest of the week. We still have to get some gear and we're set to ride! I also mailed in our first deposit down for the beach house so we're halfway there! It has turned out to be a great day! Now, I'm off to clean up the kitchen!

Would You...

Ready or not...it's Would You Wednesday!!

Would you rather...

notice live maggots in your Milky Way after you've eaten two big bites

or

find a few pubic hairs at the bottom of your Caesar salad?

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

I've told you guys before how much we enjoy poop at our house...well, lil' "C" is joining right in. "M" put "C" in the shower with him this morning and after they were done, brought him to me while I was cleaning out the kids closet. He wanted down so "M" let him run wild. I heard a small grunt and before I could get turned around, "C was already standing beside me. I didn't think much about it. I got up a few minutes later and turned around to find a light brown log laying on the floor. Nice!!!! The small grunt I heard was "C" dropping one for me on the carpet. I immediately go to find him to make sure there's no poop hanging from him or smeared across his butt while he's climbing on furniture or scooting across any other carpet. Sure enough, he had to be cleaned off...thank goodness he didn't smear it anywhere else! I go back to pick up the log that he graciously left for me and clean his "spot".

Duhuh

My hair is blonde but only because of a box...although sometimes the stuff I do, I really wonder if it should truly be blonde. Tonight I gave "C" his allergy medicine...or what I thought was his allergy meds. As I sat down right after I gave it to him, the name of the generic kept running through my head. For some reason I thought that doesn't sound right. I got back up and checked and sure enough what I gave him was generic Zantac that he took a few months ago. I thought I was giving him his Zyrtec...oops!! So last night and tonight he was heartburn free...not that he has it but I guess I was preventing it lol I can laugh now but I fixed the whole thing and we're back on track. Not sure how that mix up really happened. I guess either "M" or I was in the med cabinet and laid some out to get something else and swapped the bottles by mistake. Other than that, not much of anything else going on here. I took the boys to their playgroup Easter Party today. They had a great time...sugar and hunting Easter eggs...what more could a kid ask for! Both are in bed fast asleep...I'm trying to swap out winter for spring/summer clothes, although I'm really wondering if I should do that yet seeing as it was 80 degrees yesterday and 40 some today and a chance of snow tonight...gotta love WV weather...or spring..not sure which!

Egg Huntin'

I took "B" to an "Easter Bunny Hunt" as he calls it....which is really an egg hunt. He went to one last year but was a little too young. This year he knew what he had to do...especially when he found out there was candy inside. His only problem...he wants to stop and open every egg to see what's inside. I tried explaining that he picks up however many eggs he wants and open them afterwards. He finally started catching on really started racking them up. Although he didn't get a lucky egg, he still had a blast! We have one more tomorrow at my mom's work. I'll be taking "C" with us as they have a section for him.

My uncle is in from TN so we went to visit him and spent all afternoon at my maw-maw's. The kids are pretty tired and so am I. Not much else went on and I'm heading to put them in the tub! Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your evening!

Blah

We have done nothing today. I got up and completed my work out and after that, a BIG nada! It's cold and rainy here today and I haven't even left the house. I did get a shower and my hair went right back up in a ponytail! I did do a couple loads of laundry and ran the dishwasher. Before "M" left for work we all took a nap. That was nice...can't remember the last time I had a nap! I'm taking "B" to an egg hunt tomorrow and the weather is supposed to be back up in the 60's and sunny so we're excited about that.

This just in...What in the heck goes through kids heads??? I'm trying to get things picked up around here before the kids get ready for bed and as I'm yelling at "B" for the...let's see...15th time to get his toys picked up, he takes a small dump truck from his toy box and chuck's it across the room. I'm just looking at him and he smiles and pretends to start juggling! Where in the world has he seen anyone juggle and what would possess him to start now?? We've been in the house for one day so I'm not chalking it up to cabin fever. All the while this is going on, "C" is obsessed with the trash can and is constantly pulling things back out - even with the child locks on the door. I won't hear him doing it and walk in the kitchen to find a mess that looks like a cat tore into a trash bag. Just pieces of crap and paper towels strung out all over. I think tonight I could lose my mind!!

Boo-Boo's

"B" was outside playing today. I noticed as he flew by me on his Diego Trike that his big toe was all tore up and bleeding. I should have kept my big mouth shut, but I had to ask what happen. He instantly started crying and told me some story about he scratched it on the front porch. I'm sitting there listening has his cries intensify thinking, that's so not how that happened and had I not said anything, he wouldn't have even noticed it. I told him I was gonna clean it up and he fought me...literally pulling on me and trying to keep me from going back in the house. We finally agreed to just put shoes (remember the size 12 play shoes lol...if not, read a few posts back) and socks on. Everything is great until bath time. I put him in the tub and this blood curdling scream comes out of his tiny body...we had both forgotten about his toe. Tears start to pour and he's hopping on one foot. I'm trying to get him to sit down before he falls. He sits but has his leg propped up so the water can't hit it. I finally convince him to just suck it up and submerge it in the water for a second and the burning will stop. I'm practically holding his foot in the water lol (i'm so mean) It stops burning and he enjoys the rest of his bath. When I get him out, I can see there's dirt still in the scratch. I put him on the sink kicking and screaming so I can get the peroxide out. I'm explaining to him that it will turn white on his boo-boo and be really cold. I don't remember this stuff burning when I was a kid but evidently it does...I poured some on his toe and the blood curdling screams came back. I start blowing on his toe to stop the burning as I'm pouring more on there. We get it cleaned out and now it's time for neosporin and a band-aid. Of course I can't find the cute little kid band-aids so he has to settle for a plain one. He once again starts screaming and pleading with me to stop. I finally get the band-aid on and put him in the floor. Poor thing is not able to walk. He starts hopping on one foot telling me that he has to go sit down because his toe hurts "weally bad". After a few minutes, he gives me a hug and kiss and says the hurting is gone! He can finally walk again!!!

Would You Wednesday

I received a book as a gag gift for Christmas (thanks Caroline) and thought I would put it to good use...not sure how GOOD it will be, but it is very interesting and stupidly funny! It's called Would you rather...? by Justin Heimberg & David Gomberg. Every Wednesday, I'll share a question with you. You are more than welcome to leave your response or keep them to yourself. Since today is the start of Would You Wednesday, I'll leave you with two thoughts. Hope you enjoy...

Would you rather...

belch the sound of a gong?

or

sneeze the sound of a bowling strike?

Would you rather...

vomit marbles?

or

sweat cheese?

I told you these were really stupid!!

Results of the Joke...

Well, I get an A+ for effort...I had my joke all laid out. I called the secretary at "M's" work to have her pass along a note that read "Please call Myra Maines at 555-555-5555 in reference to a complaint" for the Chief. The phone number given was to a funeral home...get it?? She took the note to the "target" and he made the call....only he just asked for Myra instead of the whole name. So the guy who answered the phone at the funeral home just told him there was no one there by the name of Myra. Dang it!! It took him all day to figure out who did it and I heard the secretary finally ratted me out. It was good while it lasted! Oh well, you can be sure I'll try again next year!!

April Fool's

Happy April Fool's Day everyone! I love this day...I try to get as many jokes in as I can. Right now I'm planning one for "M's" boss at work. I can't wait. I really only know one good one that I get on someone new each year. I'll see who else may be on the "hit list" for today....Happy Joking!!

Beach Bound...

So we're heading to the beach for vacation. We weren't able to go last year due to the Hurricane's hitting the coast. I'm psyched to be going. I love the beach, more so laying out than getting in water that I can't see what's swimming underneath me. I'm scared to death of getting stung by a jellyfish! So far that hasn't happened...(knock on wood). The laying out in the sun is catching up with me though as I just turned 30 last month and I am finding wrinkles. I'm working on reversing that also, but everyone looks way better with a tan!! I have a goal to lose 20-25 lbs before we go...I started counting calories and working out Monday. So far, so good. I'm trying to keep my calories around 1200 a day. I bought a Biggest Loser CardioMax DVD that is awesome! I highly recommend that to anyone! Bob, Jillian, and Kim are all on there. There's a 5 min warm-up and then Bob has a 10 min session and then there's a 5 min cool down. You do this for the first week or two (depending on your level) and then you add Jillian's part in addition to Bob's for the next couple of weeks and then the last 2 weeks you had Kim's workout. I'm sweating in the warm-up lol Bob loves to do squats and lunges. After I did the DVD yesterday, I walked with "B" in the stroller for 45 min and then last night played Wii fit for an hour. Today, my butt and hamstrings are so sore that I can't squat or bend over lol So needless to say, I didn't do the DVD today. I'm getting ready to workout with Bob and hoping that the soreness will be gone very soon!! Wish me luck...I'm very determined to drop the pounds!!!

Spring Time

I saw this somewhere and thought it would be fun to post. 6 things you love or hate about Spring...it can be 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 pictures, 6 videos, etc....

1) I love Spring weather!

2) Spring puts me in the mood to throw things out and clean really good

3) I love to open my windows and let fresh air in!

4) I love Spring because it means Summer is on it's way (which usually equals a trip to the

beach)

5) Most everyone is happy for a little while...sunshine does wonders!

6) I hate the allergies, headaches, and snot it brings!

Feel free to comment on your 6 best or worst things about Spring! Happy Spring!!
Oh and by the way, nothing exciting happened today. It was nice and sunny here so we were outside all day. Have a good evening!

Jabber Jaws

I haven't realized until this morning that "B" talks non-stop. I heard/felt him climb into our bed this morning around 6:30. I thought for sure given the time, he'd just go back to sleep. Boy was I wrong! He started talking about how big he was getting and how much bigger he was than "C". Then he went into talking all about the beach and we couldn't get in because there are "great big sharks" in there. After that I'm not even sure what he said...all I know is this went on until 7:30. "C" finally woke up and wanted to play. I'm still not sure why "B" was up so early but I know he has not stopped talking all morning. I'm not sure why I haven't noticed this before....when they're babies all we want is for them to talk and now all we want is for them to shut up! lol "M" is off today so we'll see what kind of exciting adventure we'll get into today...maybe another mall trip haha - don't think so!

by the way

as i was going to bed last night, i made a stop to the potty. as i turn around to sit down, i notice something peeking out of the hole. i'm thinking, what the heck is in the toilet? i stick my hand, well half of my arm, in the cold water and pull out a round magnet that goes to the boys magnadoodle. if i would not have turned on the light, i would have never known. maybe i'm better off not knowing...anything! lol Have a wonderful Monday morning!!

WTH

What the heck...is tonight a full moon? "B" seems to be possessed by some unknown force today. Way worse than normal lol I've cleaned up two completely full glasses of milk spilled...and when milk spills, it just doesn't stay in a little puddle, it seems to splash all over the walls, ceiling, cabinets..everywhere! Not once ( I remind you) but TWICE I've cleaned up milk. Then, daddy gives him a giant spoon full of peanut butter...harmless right?? WRONG! They decided to take a shower this morning so "M" tells him to give the spoon to mommy. Does that happen??? NOOOOOOOOOOO He runs in the kitchen and slings the spoon in the sink. No big deal I thought....until I get up and walk in the kitchen. There's a huge blob of peanut butter that I almost step in lying on the floor. So I'm trying to get that cleaned up before my little vacuum cleaner ("C") comes to eat it. I get that cleaned up. And why is it that once the phone rings, this triggers something in kids heads to immediately start screaming and wanting things?? To stop that, I gave "B" some crackers in a bowl and sent him on his way. I walk into the living room and where are they??? Spread out all over the floor and he and "C" are like maggots on roadkill hoovering over them shoving them in as fast as they can. Normally this wouldn't bother me and I'd just vacuum the crumbs up, but when I've spent all morning cleaning up messes, it's starting to get to me...JUST A LITTLE! (can you tell yet haha) The late afternoon goes mess free....until "M" stops by. He's working and was bringing us some freshly made kettle corn - the highlight of my day!! Just before he walks in the door, "B" has to go to the bathroom. So "C" is right on his heels following him. I heard "B" shut the door so we couldn't hear them. "M" comes in and asks where the kids are. I just looked at him and said I tied them up lol He just stops and looks at me. I never cracked a smile and he asked me again where they were. I told him they were tied up. He gets very quiet and listens...he hears nothing lol So he finally yells "B" come here, daddy's home. A few seconds pass and still silence (i'm loving this lol). He just looks at me like he's starting to believe I actually tied them up. Finally, "B" comes tearing out of the bathroom. He asks "B" where he was and he tells him "peeing". "M" leaves to go back out on the road and I go to turn the bathroom light off. As I walk in, what do you think I see?? A HUGE puddle of pee in the middle of the floor that is starting to soak into the corner of my rug. I'm livid now! The pee is 1/2 foot away from "B's" potty and instead of it being in there, it's in my floor! I ask "B" why there's pee in the floor and he said he couldn't find his potty. So I busted his butt and made HIM clean it up (mean mommy I know!) Only a few more minutes until bed time...I can not wait!! I'm hoping and praying that tomorrow is nothing like today!

Trip to the Mall

"M" was off today and like any other day he has off, we spend the first couple of hours trying to decide what to do. It has poured the rain all day!! We decided to take the kids to the mall and get pics with the Easter Bunny and try to find their Easter outfits. "M" wanted to try and find some running shorts too. We arrive at the mall (and it's still pouring the rain) and get everything and everyone all situated. We head for the bunny first to see how bad the line is and when their breaks are. We're in luck...no line and he was just sitting there waiting for screaming kids! Mine however, did excellent! Both were smiling and the pics turned out awesome. I think to myself...good 1 down, 3 to go. Next we stopped at Gymboree and found nothing for the kids. We finally went to Sears and I found matching (gag, I know...but I wanted them to be dressed alike but in different colors) outfits. "B" will be wearing black dress pants with a blue dress shirt and a grey/black stripped vest with a blue and pink tie (very cute!!). "C" has the exact same set up only his dress shirt is green and the tie is green and black stripped. However, we didn't make it out of there without a complete meltdown. (Since "C's" surgery, he's been very clingy to me...I can not leave his sight without a total scream fest!) In the middle of trying to find his pant size, he refused to stay in the stroller and would only be held by me. I'm trying to get his jeans off to try on his dress pants while "M" is trying to help me. "B" is running around looking at all of the clothes. He yells out at the top of his lungs, "Mommy, I found Diego underwear. I can wear these tonight!" In the stroller they go, along with a DVD that he found just minutes before and a Mickey Mouse outfit that he tore apart, tags and all. I'm starting to sweat by now because it's literally 80+ degrees in Sears and we're on the top floor. There is another couple shopping kid free a couple rows over. I can clearly see him giving us dirty looks as she is smirking. I think to myself, at this point it will only take me about 2 seconds to knock that smirk clear off her face and I'm pretty sure I could take him too! I'm sure I was probably the same way before I had kids but now that I have them, I realize that everyone goes through this and if we can limit the items getting tossed in the cart or stroller and the yelling is kept to a minimal, then we're doing great! "B" finally announces (very loudly) that he "has to pee". "M" and "B" go off to the bathrooms and I take a minute and get regrouped and the stroller reorganized. "C" is back in the stroller with cheese puffs and juice (that I spilled out in the floor along with every other item out of the diaper bag) only wearing socks and his onesie. (Can't you just see this now? Go ahead and laugh, I am now lol) I think half of the screaming battle was the heat! I get his outfit put back together on the hanger and proceed to the check-out...2 down...1 to go. We're off to Dick's to find some running shorts...no luck - strike 3! We stop at American Cookie to get the boys their free cookie for visiting the bunny. Everyone is still remaining calm...especially "M" which is great! We make one last stop at Border's Book Store. I take the kids to the back and read books while "M" is looking around. I found a couple of books that the Easter Bunny will be bringing and a book about the real meaning of Easter. Once again we're headed to the check-out and we're done! Despite the one and only breakdown in Sears, we did very well for a family trip to the mall...one that will last "M" up until Christmas lol

Spring Fever

I got up around 6:30 this morning have gone full speed since. I've made breakfast, cleaned up the mess, finished 2 loads of laundry, cleaned the bathroom and am currently starting on the rest of the house...or trying to. I had to take a break to rant for a second because my little rugrats are about to do me in! As fast as I can get things picked up and move to another section to pick up, the littlest one is right behind me pulling out what I just picked up. He's a fast little booger!! "B" is circling around me riding his scooter so I'm trying not to get ran over or trip and fall over him. I have made the mistake of already pulling out the Easter eggs for them to play with. Neither one of them can tolerate the eggs put together...so they both sit and pull them apart, put them back in the bucket, stand up and dump them over their heads...sending parts all OVER the place. "M" just goes insane when he sees it and I think I'm almost with him. I however, can not stand them apart, so I sit and put them all together (just a vicious cycle!) "C" figured out how to unscrew his sippy cup (how, I have yet to figure that out) and dump half of his milk out all over the kitchen floor and then proceed to walk through it and splash in it. Awww to be a kid again!! I have spring fever really bad and I am ready to throw everything out! But, as I get ready to toss some things, I see a potential yard sale growing. So I start throwing it all in a box for another day to tag and sale...gotta make a buck where ya can! Well, now that I have that off of my chest, I'll get back to cleaning....

Shoes

So I'm not the perfect mom that I strive to be...If shoes were not a requirement in places or due to the weather, I would be perfectly happy without any (for my kids that is...I LOVE shoes). "B" has outgrown his play shoes. He told me for two days that his feet hurt and his poor little pinky toes had blisters from where we were playing outside so much. So I took him to, where else...Wal-Mart (missed ya Sara). The mall is only 20 min away but Wal-Mart is about 2 so if they have it, I will buy it. We go back to the shoe dept and the shoes he currently has on are size 11. I have no idea what his old play shoes were because I forgot to look. We try a pair of 11's on and his toe is at the end of the shoe. I had always heard to leave a thumb length distance at the end for growth. Well, those were too small (or so I thought). So we try the 12's on and they have the right distance (or so I thought). "B" chooses the orange and black Starter shoes. We buy them and that's all the thought I gave to it. Yesterday evening "M" is putting his shoes on and is yelling, you bought this kid boats for shoes. These are way too big for him. I'm like stand him up and then feel. Nothing else was said. We're at the park today with a couple of friends and they notice his shoes. So I'm telling them the story and about how I suck at finding shoes for him because I never know if I'm really feeling his toes or not. So LateNightRantingsofAToddlerMom feels his foot and informs me that he has about a thumb or two lengths lol Oh well, at least we'll have play shoes from now until he's 5! Next time, A, you're coming shoe shopping with us!!
